Hey, my dearest mommies and mom to be. Are you curious to know how I make food delicious gluten free snacks for kids?
So let’s start the process on a short note about what makes food more tempting and mesmerizing? Yes exactly! You heard it right! It’s the colors that light up any dish, especially when you are feeding a toddler. It’s important because most of it, you can visualize. As my kid is a bit naughty, he doesn’t like to finish up too early. Also, he has constipation and bloating issues. For that, I try to make food which is free from gluten. As some of the packaged food may contain ingredients which may be sensitive for my child, so I prefer home made food over the packaged ones. The reason I choose homemade dishes is that I should also know the portion my child is getting.
HOMEMADE HEALTHY SNACKS
What often I make and serve to my child is mentioned below;
- SWEET POTATO SNACK- He usually admires sweet potatoes. I carved it in different templates, like making mashed sweet potatoes, sweet potato fries,or serving as a whole. That’s a good option for me to feed him for his lunch or maybe a brunch time snack.
- APPLE- Second, and the most yum are the apples which he prefers to have in school or after it. Anyways, fruits are always good to have. And if your child starts it young, that’s absolutely amazing. The choice of fruit can be as per your child’s preference.
- RICE PASTA- Dinner sounds more impressive in my way. For that, I make homemade rice pasta which is a hit for my dinner meal.
To make rice pasta, you don’t need much effort. What all you need to do is;
- Take rice flour or you can also take whole rice and blend it to make its flour
- Add pinch of salt
- By adding water, make the dough
- Let it rest for 20-25 minutes
- After that, make different shapes of pasta (your little one will love different shapes)
- Boil it for 7-10 minutes or until boiled properly
- Your gluten free pasta is ready
Once the pasta is boiled, I toss it in salt and black pepper. On the other side I saute the preferred vegetables in slight oil. Mix and serve.
- BOILED EGG- Sometimes it happens that I’m short of some products to prepare food for him. In that case, handy boiled eggs with oregano sprinkles are my savior. This is also a whole perfect breakfast for your kid.
- CURD RICE- Other than that, my kid’s most favorite dish, curd rice, is also my savior of the time. This might sound like something new right? But believe me, this is a perfect pack of dish you can provide to your little ones.
For this, what you need to do is;
- Boil rice. Not to add salt to it
- Remove the starch water
- Add milk and let it boil until it gets soft
- Let it cool
- Blend a bit, not completely
- On the other hand, mix yogurt and sugar
- When the blended rice is cooled, add yogurt and rice together
- Pour into in your bowl
- You can top it with your favorite dry fruits
